Corporate supporters

We're always looking for corporate partners who can support the work we do with residents and other people in east London. If you’d like to partner with us, call Russ McLean, Fundraising Manager on 020 8536 3982 or email

Here are some examples of what we've achieved with partners past and present.

Trowers & Hamlins

For more than 10 years we have partnered with international law firm Trowers & Hamlins to support people back into work. As part of our Routes to Work programme which helps people get the confidence and skills to get back into work, Trowers & Hamlins sponsors two work placement programmes every year. For two weeks the London team hosts up to ten Routes to Work participants, providing both mentoring and training.

Our experience…
“The Trowers team really understand the challenges of getting back into work. The programme they offer is really professional, but they also do extra things like providing a new suit for each of the participants, so that they really have a good chance at their next interview.”

Since 2010 Barclays has sponsored a mentoring programme for young people aged under 25. The Barclays team wanted to do more than just sponsor the programme, they wanted to be part of it. So we trained a team of Barclays mentors who now give their time every fortnight throughout a three month programme. They provide mentoring about employment, life skills, confidence and lifestyle. The programme kicks off with a ‘speed dating’ style meet and greet to allow the mentors and mentees to select the best match.

Our experience…
“Canary Wharf can seem like an exclusive and intimidating place for many young people. The Barclays team have made it more accessible and friendly and their mentoring really gives the young people the confidence to seek out new opportunities and belief in themselves.”

Blackwood Group

The Blackwood Group is an independent executive search firm who hold an annual Christmas charity auction. We were both surprised and excited when they donated the money raised - more than £5,000 - to East Potential.

Some of the money was used for Christmas gifts and a party for young mothers and their babies at our Focus e15 foyer. The remainder is going towards programmes to help disadvantaged and homeless young people living in east London.

“This is our first Christmas and New Year together and it’s so lovely that the Blackwood Group have taken the time out to make it so special for us all. We’re very grateful - they don’t know what this means to us, it’s definitely going to be a happy new year.” Young mother Zaianb.

The Blackwood Group’s experience…
“We are only at the beginning of our relationship with East Thames but we have already been deeply impressed by both the quality of their work and the scope of people they help. We are looking forward to continuing to work with them and support their work within the community.”

Our experience…
“We can’t thank the Blackwood Group enough for their generosity and support. The actions their staff took to raise the funds is admirable and their donation has already made a difference to the service we provide to local young people to enable them to reach their full potential.’’ June Barnes, East Thames Chief Executive.

John Lewis Stratford City

We were delighted to be selected as John Lewis Stratford City's charity partner of the year for 2012/13 - a monumental year that included the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

During that time staff from both John Lewis and East Thames took part in various fundraising events including a sponsored sleep out and a 2012km bike ride. John Lewis Stratford City also raised £33,000 by charging a modest £2 to use their Olympic Park viewing platform.

In total the partnership raised £35,000. The funds raised have gone towards an Olympics-inspired sports programme at Focus E15 foyer in Stratford; enterprise sessions in foyers across east London and Essex; and new facilities at the Focus E15 foyer among other projects. You can read about the work we do in our foyers here.

Our experience…
“It’s easy to see why John Lewis is so successful. Their team is young, energetic and passionate. And they are totally committed to making their local area a better place. It was great fun working with them and the money raised will help so many young people.” Pamela Gardner, East Thames’ Director of Communities and Neighbourhoods.
